Most library resources can be accessed off-campus without any special requirements. Still, in specific cases such as when you saved/emailed a particular link from on-campus, it might not work off-campus as it needs to be modified to address this change in network location. Also if you need to access any campus applications or network drives they require you to be on campus or directly connected to the DePauw campus network.

In such cases DePauw students, staff, and faculty can use two different remote tools offered: DePauw Virtual Desktop and Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The easier and no install option is the DePauw Virtual Desktop which can be accessed through any web browser, though keep in mind that initially it will take a few minutes to load and you are able to see the Windows Desktop. Once connected you can stay on for a 2-hour period and access all resources on the desktop including the Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Powerpoint, etc.

For any issues accessing the Virtual Desktop reach out to the IT Helpdesk at HelpDesk@depauw.edu or (765)658-4294
