There are a lot of spaces in Roy O. West Library available for use, most of which are just "see a spot, grab it," but others are spaces you can check out or reserve.
Study Rooms 1-17
There are 17 study rooms spread out over the top 3 floors of Roy. If a room is not occupied, you can check out a key to it. Just come to The Desk and ask. You will have it for four hours. Different rooms have different set-ups - tables & chairs, couches, etc - but almost all have a monitor (for projecting your computer) and a whiteboard).
Faculty Carrels
We have 5 carrels (in the southwest corner of the top floor). These basic spaces include a desk and chair, and provide solitude for faculty to get out of their office and work on a project for a few hours. They can be checked out for the day at The Desk.
Conference Room 206A
This conference room is bookable on e-services for individual events. When not reserved, it's available for anyone to use without checking out.
---- NOT READY FOR USE YET ----
Wood Study
The Wood Study is located to the left as you enter Roy from the Quad. This space is bookable on e-services, and can accommodate catered events. We are still waiting for the chairs for this room, and anticipate they'll be in place by the end of February.
The technology is still not ready in the following spaces. This information is for after the rooms are completed.
Viewing Room - the Viewing Room on the lower level of Roy will be bookable by the Registrar's Office as a regular classroom space. Faculty and staff can also book it for individual events in e-services.
Active Learning Classroom A - This classroom (on the 2nd floor) supports group work. There are several "pods" with five seats in each pod, with a projectable monitor for each. It would be particularly useful if students are working collaboratively on projects on their laptops. It will be bookable by the Registrar's Office as a regular classroom space. Faculty and staff can also book it for individual events in e-services.
Active Learning Classroom B - This classroom (on the 2nd floor) supports group work. This lab has desktop computers that will have more specialized software. It will be bookable by the Registrar's Office as a regular classroom space. Faculty and staff can also book it for individual events in e-services.
