We invite you to research our collections using the following options:

  • Getting Started: The Archives and Special Collections Overview Guide provides detailed information on how to search holdings located within the Archives and Special Collections.

  • In-Person Research: You are welcome to visit the Archives in-person to search our physical collections, indexes, and other historical materials yourself. Please review our access requirements, including duplication requests, fees, and schedule an appointment with us directly via the DePauw Archives and Special Collections About Page.

  • Hire an Independent Researcher: If you are unable to travel to the Archives, you may choose to hire an unaffiliated researcher to look up these records on your behalf. The Indiana State Library maintains a helpful directory of fee-based, freelance researchers through the Indiana State Library Unaffiliated Researchers for Hire List. Please note that you must contact the researcher directly to discuss their availability, scope of work, and fees.
